Frequent Questions

Why do Pilates?

It is highly adaptable to each individual, creates balanced strength in your musculature, improves posture, enhances your mind-body connection, creates deep muscle tone and flexibility, and can help with reduction in injuries from muscle overuse and imbalance.  Plus, it is just plain awesome sauce.

What should I wear?

Something comfortable, breathable, and not too loose fitting.  The instructor should be able to see your body so as to ensure your proper form and safety.   However, we do not want to see too much of your form, so please, no loose fitting shorts, short shorts, or pants that need replacing.

Do I need shoes?

Possibly.  Pilates is practiced without shoes, however you may wear socks if you are more comfortable with your feet covered. Something with a non-skid sole is great.  If you are taking a CoreAlign® class, you may still practice barefoot, however we find many prefer a light sock, or a minimally soled shoe, such as a 5 finger or the like.  If you are attending a Kettlebell class, you will likely want to practice in sneakers.  Please bring sneakers with you to change into, so as not to track dirt and debris all over the studio.  Thanks!

Do I need to bring a mat?

We have mats for your use, however if you prefer to bring your own mat, you are more than welcome to do so.

How may I pay?

We accept all major credit cards, as well as checks and cash.  If you are paying with cash, please note that for security reasons we do not keep cash on premise, and are unable to supply change.  Please plan accordingly and bring exact change for your purchase. If there is a balance due to you, we will place it on a studio account for you and it may be used toward another purchase at any time.  Thanks for your understanding.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you give us 12 hours notice to avoid being charged in full for your session. Please cancel yourself out of any classes through our on-line scheduling system.  If you need to cancel a private or duet session, please contact the instructor directly.   Thank you for your understanding.

How long is my session or class?

All of our classes and sessions run about an hour.  Please be prompt, as we cannot allot more than an hour for your reserved time for a private.  If you are more than 10 minutes late for a duet or class, please understand that we will request that you not take class.  This is for your safety, as well as for the other participants involved in that hour.

Why do the packages expire?

Because in order to see results, you have to do the work.  Consider it your motivation. We really prefer not to have you not use the package, but we also don’t want to sell you a package you never end up using.  If you come in and do the work, you won’t need to worry about a package expiring.
